"We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope." - Martin Luther King
A simple quote to remind those of us going through a patch that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Gown Dreams
I thought I would start your morning off with some Kate Moss, haute couture and a whole lot of glamour. This Vogue April 2012 editorial is everything I dreamed of as a child when I thought of princesses: never-ending tulle, rococo era furniture and over the top head pieces!

Welcoming Spring!
Well we have officially sprung into spring! Although where I live, it currently feels a lot more like summer. With highs of almost 30C for the past several days, this has by far been the best first week of spring I have ever seen. Although the weather will surely cool down in the weeks to come, this little preview of summer has definitely had an uplifting effect on all of our grumpy winter moods! Goodbye snow, hello grass!

A New Beginning...
As you can evidently tell, I've been lacking in the posting department in the last months. I wish I had a valid reason, but really I think I've just been overwhelmed with the endless changes happening in my life in the past year. As spring arrives however, I am finding more and more inspiration. Therefore, I vow to you...seldom readers...that I put a greater effort into this poor little neglected blog!

making up is easy
As I am quite makeup inadequate, I always look for simple and easy how-tos to guide me through more elaborate looks. Lately I have found the magic of YouTube makeup tutorials (I know, I'm pretty late to THAT party!) My favourite of all YouTube makeup gurus is celebrity and fashion makeup artist Lisa Eldridge. Her fresh faced, flawless signature looks, irresistible British accent and clean, crisp aesthetic make her videos glamorous and easy for even the most inadequate students. Check out her YouTube Channel lisaeldridgedotcom

Autumn Colours
Although the weather has been rainy and dreary in the past couple of week, I have been thoroughly enjoying all things autumn. Fall frothy pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin pies to red, yellow and orange leaves slowly falling from their trees, I do believe fall is perhaps my favourite season.

NYFW Spring 2012 ~ J.Crew
Some of my favourite looks. I particularly like the colour blocking and pattern pairings, which says a lot coming from a blackwhitebeige kinda girl.

NYFW Spring 2012 ~ Jason Wu
I have professed my love for the Wu before and he has done it again! I love the combination of the greyish neutrals and the almost neon colours! Perfect!

Miu Miaow!
I've been slowly, but surely developing a love affair with Miu Miu shoes and their Fall 2011 line of accessories has thrown me over the edge! Sparkles = Check! Bows = Check! Extra high heel = Check! I particularly love the slightly rounded shape of the heel and the colour combinations are pretty amazing! Perhaps a graduation gift to myself?!

Kate Comes to Canada - Part I
Since last Thursday, the Duke and more importantly the Duchess of Cambridge have been making the rounds in Canada. I was not a huge fan of the wedding dress, but I am finding that Kate Middleton's latest fashion choices are quite refreshing! Especially since political people in this country are usually so mundane! So here's a recap of miss Middleton's wardrobe on tour in Canada.
At the Governor General's house later that evening wearing the same Issa dress she wore the night before her wedding and those L.K. Bennett wedges she wears all the time.
On July 1st, Canada Day, wearing Canada's official colours. The dress is by Reiss and the hat has maple leaves on it. (Also, it must have been mighty hot for her in those sleeves as it has around 32C and f&*% humid last Friday! She's a trooper!)
A change of outfit into another Issa dress for the evening ceremony. (Again with the sleeves?!)
In Montreal on the 2nd of July, in a wool Catherine Walker dress, Tabitha Simmons sparkly shoes...and stocking! She may be able to dress herself, but I kinda wish someone had given this poor girl a weather forecast before she packed her stockings and sweaters!
In Quebec City, wearing a blue dress by Erdem. I think she makes very smart fashion choices as blue is the official colour of the Province of Quebec.
Arriving in Prince Edward Island on July 4th wearing a Joseph shift dress and tweed jacket.
Later the same day, changed into some Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton. Showing some love to her wedding dress designer!

It's Good to Have Ambitions...
I've always considered myself an ambitious person and not to be all I-want-to be-exactly-like-Carrie-Bradshaw-because-she's-so-freaking-fabulous-!!! cliché on you, but I'm a shoe girl. I probably have about 3 hand bags (practical ones too...imagine that!) and I don't own fuck-tons of jewellery, just basic classical pieces that I rotate depending on outfits. You probably know where this is heading -- one day, I hope to have a shoe closet full of the most beautiful and unpractical shoes (because let's face it, beautiful shoes are rarely practical)! Considering I bought almost 6 pairs of shoes in the past 2 months, I think I can safely say, I'm on my way!

Watch Out
In the age of smart phones, cell phones and high technology, I find it enticing (and a little bit ironic) that so many girls are starting still wearing watches. This classic accessory can easily be worn on a bare wrist with perfectly manicured nails or glamorously stacked with similarly toned metal bracelets. Combining practicality and classical style, this accessory can conveniently be worn on a night out to town or to a simple casual weekend brunch.

Things my Mother Taught Me
Less is more. Time heals all wounds. Love is unconditional. The best person you can be is yourself. Have compassion for other, because not all are as fortunate as you. Expensive shoes are always more comfortable. You don't have to spend a fortune to look fabulous.
I love you mom! xo
